How corrections work

LGAI assimilates and examines very large volumes of public records — adopted budgets, annual financial reports, board minutes, contracts, campaign-finance filings, payroll data, and the responses to public-records requests — often running to thousands of pages per jurisdiction. Public records at this scale are voluminous, inconsistent, and occasionally wrong at the source. Good-faith interpretive errors can occur in work of this scope.

When LGAI becomes aware of a material factual error in a published document, it considers appropriate corrections in good faith, and material revisions are logged on this page. The handling of any particular correction — including its timing, form, and scope — remains within LGAI's sole discretion, as described in our Editorial Standards.

Readers do not have to take our word for any finding. LGAI publishes and links the same primary source documents its research relies on — the budgets, financial reports, minutes, and filings themselves — so that any member of the public can pull the same records and verify our findings independently. That is the strongest correction mechanism there is: the underlying record is open to everyone.
