Local Government Accountability (LGAI) is an independent Wyoming 501(c)(4) social-welfare organization. We conduct forensic analysis of local-government finances with no party affiliation or preference. Human nature and institutional incentives create fiscal risk under every banner; we investigate any jurisdiction on the same basis. We begin every review open-minded, apply a consistent multi-lens method (peer comps, trends, spending patterns, board minutes, contracts, donor cross-checks), and let the public record decide. As a 501(c)(4) we exercise the full range of First Amendment rights available under the law. We expressly reserve the right, strictly on the fiscal record and in our sole discretion, to communicate with candidates and campaigns, to endorse candidates, to state clearer positions, or to take any further lawful action when the facts warrant. Local Government Accountability (“LGAI”) is a Wyoming nonstock nonprofit corporation organized under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code as a social-welfare organization. Contributions to LGAI are not tax-deductible to the donor. As a 501(c)(4), donor identities are confidential and are not subject to public disclosure.
As a 501(c)(4) social-welfare organization we exercise the full latitude of the First Amendment, including the rights recognized in Citizens United and related precedent. We expressly reserve the right — strictly on the fiscal record and in our sole discretion — to communicate with candidates and campaigns, to endorse candidates, to state clearer positions, to create public awareness, or to take any further lawful action when the facts warrant. We accept no funding from candidates, political parties, or government contracts. Our mission is educational: to inform the public about the fiscal management, ethics, and governance of local and state government through independent, fact-based research and publication of public records.

Tipster identities are not disclosed publicly and are protected to the fullest extent permitted by law. LGAI cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality in the event of a lawful subpoena or court order and advises tipsters who require anonymity to use appropriate operational security measures.
