The Local Government Accountability Inc is conducting an active investigation into the fiscal management and governance of Louisville, Kentucky using the LGAI’s Six-Pillar Audit Framework. LGAI research analysts are actively reviewing Louisville’s audited financial records, budgets, and staffing under the framework, and findings will be published as the review progresses.

A general election is set for November 3, 2026 — the mayoral race (incumbent Craig Greenberg vs. Metro Councilor Shameka Parrish-Wright) plus all odd-numbered Metro Council districts. This is the first fully nonpartisan municipal cycle following a 2024 state law change; the primary was May 19, 2026.
